Hi I want to start to study for the usmle1 from Dec. Everyone i know is saying to take the kaplan course.First of all it's really expensive and 2ndly i don't live in a city with live lectures available.
I was wondering which kaplan course would be better the center prep or the home study couse or if i should just buy the qreview and use the qbank and iv. I already ordered some books namely BRS for path, phys and behav science,High yield for anat and made ridicus simple for micro and neuroanat,Lippincott's for pharma and biochem. And ofcourse the 1st aid and the board simulator series, and nms for usmle1 for prac questions. I thought these would be enough until certain people were shocked to hear that i was not studying a single kaplan book or note.Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what should i do?I really want to start to study in Dec.BUT if i'm still this confused by all the contradicting information i might just forget all about it.Do i have to get the kaplan notes from kaplan or does anyone know where i can get live notes cheaply.I already have spent so much money on books and my apartment since i moved away from my parents to Dallas.

Take a look at the article posted by Yulia on page 2 under the title' My score is back'. She had excellent score and good advise. There are so many opinions out there, but the main thing is your study and your goal. Remember First Aid only recommends Qbank. Live lectures look fancy, but too little when compared to the large number of topics must be covered, besides that money and time are greatly consumed. I don't think it's productive. Good luck!
