I applied to a number of programs for IM on 17th oct and have only heard from one place yet and another program told me that they would only send an invite for fmg's after 1 Nov. I just wanted to know whether most of the programs only send out invites for the interviews after the Deans letter for amg's is released in Nov or did I apply too late?

Yes it was Emory. I thought I wasnt too late in applying but maybe I am. I try hard not to let the sinking feeling get to me but it doesnt seem to be working. Good scores, US LORs, ecfmg certified, work ex........ I thought I had it all covered but just 1 interview till now and that too not from a great place is killing!!!!

OK.I too just 1 IV and 7 rej.!Its a bit demoralising.I just want a few more IV calls so atleast I can fall back on something.I hope things get better in the coming weeks though!

Guys,
I applied on Sept 1st and got the same mail from Emory.
I dont know what to say abt interviews bcoz u guys have at least one and I dont have any.What I pray to God is to give me at least one interview.

having how many interviews is considered safe as far as matchin in residency is concerned

I would say around 8-10 interviews would be safe
