3 day old newborn had a clear fluid leaking from his umbilicus.......what is the fluid?.....theyhad amniotic fluid, urine and like 3 other things.....?????

Maybe urine from an urachal fistula.

it was on my step 1...i was going to put urine b/c of the urachal fistula....but it can really be anything...the ? said simply...what i typed up on top.....so i was kind of taken away....anyway thanks.......question to drkaur....dont u need some clue in the stem of the ?.. to come to that answer..or is it the most common cause .....

Rememberit could also be muconium from a vittiline fistula.

no boss thats not the point. the point is the consistency of the material coming out. here it is clear fluid. whatelse can it be other than urine of a just born baby. urine of a just born baby is like distlled water FRESH
