hai every one,
i am new member in the group. i recently finished my step 1 and looking for the result.
i want to start preparation for step 2. please help me how to start.
i took so much time preparing for step 1. this time i want to be bit careful. so kindly advise me what is the best way to start and which books help in the intial stages?
i wish all the best for those who are going for exam.

i'm in a similar situation... i was waitin for someone to answer u'r post. i was thinkin of starting with kaplan medicine notes and then goin to kaplan q bank.
i feel UW and kaplan q bank and q book should be enough questions. my doubt is weather to buy FA or crush.

hi i have been in touch with this group. I just have around seven months to prepare for step 1 , 2 and csa. I just finished my canadian exam and think that it was a waste of my time. i want to start from step2CK. can any one please give me a sincere advice , as how to prepare. and is it possible to achieve a good score if i attempt in the beginnig of March ,2006. Please do reply because i don't have any hope.

I,ve bought Crush for step-2 last week, I guess it's very good beside Qbank and Qbook.
I'll start USMLE-2 preparation tomorrow " even i'm still waiting for USMLE-1 results " .

hi eeman...i gave mccee on 12th jan this year and i am waiting for the results...right now i am preparing for my step 2 ck which i plan to take in the 1st week of may 2006...i believe that toronto notes is a waste of time and you'd be better off with kaplan notes and UW qbank ( which i found to be very useful for my mccee ) . i met some doctors here who were able to clear the mccee and mccqe1 and they had never even seen toronto notes even once...just read for the usmle and keep giving the canada exams too( if yu still plan on giving them)...
hey doc1996...why do you say that giving canada exams was a waste of time...just want to know cause i am also in the process of giving my canada exams...
i was also planning to take kaplan qbank online for my step 2 ck...can someone tell me which should be better...UW or kaplan...

Hi, everybody. currently i plan to appear for the step ck at the end of April 2006 or begining of May. Achilles i said that Canadian exams are waste because they don lead you any where. I am currently a licenctiate of MCC, but its not going to lend me a residency. If you get a high score in USMLES THEN YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE RESIDENCY. But in Canada even when you are done with the exams you have to sit for exams which are different for each provinces and thousands of imgs competing for few seats. That's why it is a waste of time. Can any body guide me as how to prepare for step 2 CK. has any heard of this book called " step up for step 2".
Eeman i would certainly like to study. where are you in Toronto or else where.

hi doc1996,thanks for the reply...i have heard that from a lot of people when it comes to getting into a residency program in canada...thats one of the reasons i am giving both exams simultaneously...
regarding your question on how to prepare for the step 2 ck,go to the forum-"step 2 ck exam experiences" and read the post by babelaas...he has given some good tips...i could have written it myself but he's just done it better ( and the real reason is that it's too long to write it all again ...) good luck with your preparation.
and are you in toronto ? i am in mississauga...i am still going to try for the mccqe1 which i plan to give just after my step 2 ck exam in may...are yu studying alone or with some study group...good luck to you pal.
