hi! i am an IMG from the philippines. i am done with step1, and will take step2ck on november 29. i would just like to know if it will be too late to apply to IM programs when i get my step1 score in early november. some programs do accept applications without the step2ck score, so there will be no problem with such programs. however, regarding programs which do require the step2ck score, i MIGHT be able to beat their deadline on dec.31 if i receive my step2ck score before that date, but i am concerned that beating the deadline will do no good coz their interview slots might be all filled up by then. do you think this will be the case? or do you think i should just wait another year and just apply early, as soon as ERAS opens?
by the way, i am also taking step2cs in mid-december, so i would really prefer to be matched this year, in order to avoid going to the US 2x (for the step2cs this year, and for interviews next year).

I graduated from PLM in 2002. Im now based in California. Nice to run into a fellow filipino here.
I'd like to keep an optimistic outlook... if you can arrange everything so that you can make the deadlines of some programs, then why not?  If you think it's not worth the risk, then I would suggest not to rush yourself and take your time getting ready for each step.

halu kabayans!
im from cebu and currently living in NY. i graduated in 2000. im also trying to match this year. i already passed step1 and CS and waiting for my step2 result which i took last oct. 31. im surprised how hard it is to prepare for the match. i already spent a week writing my PS and i havent got a single recommendation letter from anyone. im planning to apply for pathology. the thing is most of the deadlines are until january next year so im hoping before it comes all my documents will be ready. what programs are you guys planning to apply?
