you can definitely open/join a private pediatric practice. some hospitals have inpatient pediatricians who only take care of kids in the hospital so you can have an outpatient practice.

its not that simple doctorusmle. you just can't walk in and get recruited in these practices...how much experience do you have of the way pediatric medicine is practised in the US? you need to be well versed with the system to be able to function in it. and nobody is gonna hire you even if you've done MD in pediatrics in your country. sure, after your residency training in US you can join any of these practices. but even then these practices are competitive i guess...so its not a sittting duck as you think it is....welcome to the real world!

Peds actually is a very challenging profession in my opinion, requiring a lot of patience and one must really love to work with kids. It's not busy like surgery but not a laid back easy going job either. I think it's more stressful than medicine as kids need more attention, their condition can change from minute to minute but at the same time you'd be amazed at their resilience. You can always open a peds practice after you're board certified at the end of residency. It is competitive and is one of the least earning specialities. I think it's very rewarding to be a pediatrician tho
