Hi, Why is Cu essential for heme synthesis. Where is it a co-factor? thanks

I dont know if it is essential (where did you read that?) but copper is a cofactor of ferroxidase that converts ferrous to ferric iron for binding transferin.

Thank you. I read that in the Princeton book I'm busy with. They just said it is essential.

B6 is a cofactor of ALA synthase which is an enzyme catalyzing rate-limiting reaction in heme synthesis
