Do I need to check BP for HTN pt? If so, how detailed? I mean, do I measure BP in sitting, standing and lying postition, bilaterally? That's lot of time...

The information booklet with the step2cs states that you should take the clinical finding as current. It means that the BP was taken just before you entered the room. I had two HTN cases, I took BP only on one case(only lying down), didnot take on the second case as HTN was incidental finding. I just councelled on that case. And ofcourse there was no time. In my opinion if you need to take the BP in sitting standing and lying just write it in the patient notes. Its not worth wasting time taking BP.

I agree with malathion No time to check BP again and you have to assume values given as real and accurate. The SP cannot fake high blood pressure. If you consider it is reelevant for your case to check BP again, write it down in your diagnostic workup (orthostatics). good luck
