I am guessing you haven't had time to read pediatrics yet..so here it is: - Topical preps like benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin and clindmycin, erythromycin for comedone and papulopustular acne (benzoyl peroxide in morning and tretinoin at night)
- Isotretinoin: for moderate to severe nodulocystic acne, resistant to conventional treatment
- Systemic therapy like tetracyclins: mod to severe acne, which doesn't respond to topicals and for scarring
- steroid injections for faster healing of nodulocystic lesions
- dermabrasion for minimization of scarring after active process is over

thanx again nisha!!! does this mean for a case of scarring we give only tetracycline or do we also add isotretinoin??? yup thats true havent still read peds

For Grade I-III Acne-- Topical therepy 1.Antibacterial N comedolytic---Benz peroxide5% 2.Comedolytic----Retinoic acid 0.05% AND Adapalene(Least irritant. Grade II-III Acne___ 1.Antibacterial--erythromycin,Clindamycin(Can be used topically as well as orally) Along with above preprations.Other oral antibiotic that can be used orally for Grade for II -IV acne Tetracycline,Minocycline ,Roxithromycine(Any one agent) Severe GradeIII- IV Acne------- Cyproteron(Only in women with cyclic estrogen.) Drugs Used In GRADE IV ACNE only___ 1.Dapsone 2.Isotretinoin(Sebostatic,Keratostatic,anti-inflammatory retenoid)-20-40 mg lot of side effects of this drug so ued in most resistant cases
