If you look at that first post with everyone's score correlations it should give you a pretty good idea. I haven't gotten back my step 2 yet so I can't speak personally but it seems to be the best predictor. People on step 1, including myself, do significantly better on the real thing than NMBE. That being said, a good friend of mine scored 20 points lower on the real thing than the NMBE. It was still passing, but it was a shock since historically people do better on the real thing than NBME. I must say I thought the real step 2 was easier than NBME form 2 but I haven't gotten my numbers yet, it was just my impression. A lot more "gimmies" were thrown in the bunch.

I was way off the NBME scores in both step 1 and 2.My step 1 NBME scores suggested that I would get some where between 84-88% but I got 94% in real exam.In step 2 NBME again my scores suggested I would get somewhere between 84-89%,but I got 96%.But I do strongly suggest to take both the NBMEs cause you get a very good idea of the the real thing coz the difficulty level is somewhat the same.I guess the discrepency happens because NBMe is asessed on the basis 0f 4 blocks and the real thing is 8 blocks long!! -jedi

The key is though, that almost everyone scores better on the real thing than they do NBME. NBME was giving me about 200 and I got 232 on the real thing. Step 1 had been 9 points higher on the real thing. So if you pass NBME, passing the real thing shouldn't be a problem. Congrats on your good Step 2 Score, jedi
