Hi, Can anyone tell me what kind of score I need to get to be competitive for a family medicine or internal medicine residency at the UCLA medical center or the UCI medical center? I have just spent two hours trying to find what the score range was for the current residents there with absolutely no luck. I am a second year, and I am trying to figure out what to aim for on the Step I. I would really like to go to Southern California. Any information you could provide on this matter would be helpful ie. what scores are considered competitive etc. Thanks so much.

Hi guest, the fields you mentioned are considered as "less competitive" ones. Unlike fields like ORS, otolaryngology...etc, you may not need to ace the exam. But you should always aim to score the best results.

Hi, I have visinting some sites and some residency programs require a 90th percentil. I would like to know what is the score of 3 digits (provide by the USMLE sheet) that correspond to this 90th percentil
