hello everyone i have been reading this forum for about six months now and let me tell you something besides the few people on this site who are honestly in it for themselves the rest of you all seem to be good people with good intentions. i learned alot from this site and the most imortant of all is that when things go wrong for you with regards to the usmles one encouraging reply makes such a difference. anyway i have been studying for these exams for the last year and a half and i just got my result today for cs and i failed. makes you really wonder about the exam. i honestly walked out feeling ok and when talking to other people who took the exam i figured i would be ok because we all pretty much had the same experiences . but they all passed and i did not which is fine because i am sure they to worked hard. the thing that bothers me about the cs exam is that your fate is decided by random people to a certain degree, who obviously are not enjoying themselves and who have no medical background and who can fail you just because they feel like it. i mean when i took the exam 8 of the 12 were kids who were obviously getting summer jobs and it really made me think. step 1 and 2 i prefer so much more because though a strain on your eyes atleast your fate is not decided by people rather a computer who does not have moods. and its easy for people to say keep cool and all that stuff but in reality your future rides on this and for people who are not rich its quite a load to pay 1200 dollars again. anyway my purpose of this is just to make a point that even though it is a step in your life to becoming a doctor remember that if this is the worst thing we will have to go through in our lives we are lucky. wish everyone the best

dude dont worry. shit always happens. pay your 1200 kechinks (dollars) and sit for the exam. pass it and apply for interviews. go for them and get matched. slog it out for a couple of yrs and finish your residency. get employed as an attending in whatever field you choose. then stop for a minute and look back at this. hopefully you'll laugh at yourself and say "man what a ride! what a stupid dramatic ride!" although the dollars might seem like a bit now it really isnt much in the grand scheme of things. at least thats how i console myself anyway!!

TiredDoc; Sorry to hear your story, I had passed all the examinations and I am working on my applications for what is going to be even a more dramatic ride: Getting a Surgery spot. As Dharjma said, looking back, it is just ridiculous how much I suffered for those 3 stupid exams, really to tell you the truth I was on worst situations during Med School. Just don't loose the faith, or whatever you want to call the impulse to keep on trying, you'll get it this time. Gabriel Ruiz
