I heard there is one year preliminary surgery you have to do, but do you have to apply for the preliminary year separately or is it included in the anesthesiology and you only need to apply once?
Please guide me. I am really confused with this. Thanks a lot!!

You can apply to categorical programs, which include the PGY-1. If you apply to advanced programs, then you have to apply separately for prelim. IM or surgery or sometimes OB/GYN or Transitional year.
