I am an Indian MG, applying for the 2006 Match. Me and my girlfriend, (who is also a MG from India) applied for 2006 Match separately, i.e. we didnt go for a couples match.
My credentials : 99/98/CS result awaited/Need Visa/No USCE/No research
Her Credentials: 98/99/Passed CS/Need Visa/No USCE/No research
We have already applied to 27 similar programs separately. We applied separately because we were told that both of us have good score and applying for a couples match can decrease your chances. Today I heard from one of our friends about another couple who applied as a couples match and have already got 7 calls including from good programs like Mamenoids. I checked it out in Eras that we can still check the box for couples match and change our profile.
As of now I have a single call from Albert Einstein, PA and she has no calls.
Now I have following queries:
1. Is changing to couples match at this moment feasable, as most of the programs have already downloaded our applications. But eras itself says "Profile information should be kept up-to-date throughout the Application Season"
2. By making this change now, do you think we can get more calls.
3. If we go for couples match, we have to mention in the profiles- each other's name and position the partner is applying to. Do we have to retransmit our documents to the programs or this information will be automatically updated at their end,
Please help us out to make this crucial decision.

Where am I?? Downloading 900 documents this morning. Helping residents in the program. Drinking coffee with my chief resident. Arranging 150 interviews. 
I don't know how to answer this question. Yes, your names are linked together in ERAS - but I don't know about the rest.
