Hi, I have two questions about H1b visa and step 3. I read in “The Wall Street Journal” that H1b visa available for this financial year (#65000) has reached its cap. This concerns me because I want to apply for H1b visa in 2006 spring. It is true that medical education in a residency program is considered non-profit and it is absolved from numeric limitation? When do you think that it will be the latest optimum date for taken step3, in order to be available for h1b visa request in 2006 year?(wow, what long q. hope it is understandable).

Academic centers are exempt from the cap. You should take the USMLE 3 stay taken by the end of Jan to ensure you have the result in time for the match and visa. CGR
