Guys , I wonder if someone seriously consider these States as possible place for living with family for 5 loooong years of Surgical residency?
How are ppl there. I know nothing (besides stereotypes and movies ) about these places. Are they IMG/foreigner friendly?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

alabama is a nice place to live weather wise,its nice and sunny .though it rains without warning.
UAB is one of the best hospitals in the country.ANd birmingham is too small to be a city and too big to be a town.its good for someone who does not want a very fast pace of life 
I dont know anything about kansas.
