If Prevalence goes up then Negative predictive value goes Up or down???????????????

if more pple have disease that means less chances of finding a truely negative person....

My mnemonic

Prevalence goes up ----- Positive predictive goes up, ( NPV is the opposition)

prevelnce=all the cases go up-------------------PPV goes up

Let Me ADD some Info on it:-
Sensitivity and Specificity Of a Test Remain The same.lets say if the prevalence of a disease goes up then PPV goes up,NPV goes down BUT sensitivity and specificity remain the same just because sensitivity and specificity of a test remain the same irrespective of prevalence...
Reference:-High Yield Biostatistics..(A Very Good Book FOr Biostatistics) Even I Read the same in my third year.
