hi guys... just got interview invitations for internal medicine categorical position in two hospitals... Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and Geisinger Health System in PA. My question is this...anyone have any idea as to how reputable these hospitals are? I mean, i know they are good hospitals, but is there anything special about them that i should know? Thanks a lot guys for your thoughts. take care. bye.

hi bebu... i am a green card holder. I have been in the US for the past 20yrs. I did my medical school in india. I got a 94 on step 1, 91 on step 2. I don't have any USCE, but when i called SIU, they said that they look at the whole package rather than just one aspect of your application.

hello drkill...my interview experience at SIU was great. They are one of the most friendliest and most dedicated people i have met. The program director as well as the chairman were both so down to earth and friendly... they were my interviewers along with a chief resident, who was also quite nice. Overall, the feeling i got of SIU was very good...the only drawback is that springfield does not have much to offer for a social life...but academically and all, i was very much impressed. Personally, i would rate that program very high.

hello dr kill...i did not get interview at Franklin...so i cant tell u anything about that program. I'm sure u have checked out scutwork.com...if not, try it...i'm sure u'll find some very useful info there. I have one question though...is'nt internal medicine residency program at Southern Illinois University a university based program? Let me know, if possible. Thanks.
