CMDT 2004 Mentions the Pathophysiology of migaine as "They have been related to dilation and excessive pulsation of branches of the external carotid artery".

But in pregnancy the Peripheral vascular resistance decrease that should increase the symptoms of Migraine, but its not so. Hence the dilemma.

Can somebody Help?????????????????????????????

multiple sclerosis gets better with pregnancy? but then why do 1/3 have flare ups in the first few months after delivery? (kaplan)

Kaplan also says that it's ok to give narcotics for migraine in preg..no effect on the fetus?

m.s basically a auto immune disease. inpregnancy body adapts to accomodate the foreign fetus i.e. kind of immunosuppression hence m.s. gets better and so do a lot of other autoimmune diseases.
