I am going to take step 3 by the end of december, will it be late in order to get a H1B visa?
Shall I take it earlier? I am postponing it till december in order to be sure that i will pass.

Thanks malaysian for your reply. I have one more question. My scores are step 1 80 and step 88 (second attempt).. So far i have applied only to 100 IM programs... Is it advisable to apply for FM or other specialities also as a back up?

hey anybody that u guys know of gave step3 after the match date in march ad still managed to get a h1b in post match scrammble?????????

I know of a friend who got into a decent program in NY and took his step 3 after match. It depends on where you get into and what your other scores. If they believe that you can clear step 3 without a problem, they will consider.
Having a step 3 score before interviews increases your chances of a pre-match. Hope that helps.

Dr_Vrach I can't answer your question for you becoz it all depends on what you want for yourself.There is no point applying to a 'back up' if you have no interest in that field whatsoever.100 I.M. is a good number I'm sure you'll hear something from that.
As for me I've only applied to I.M. becoz thats all I want to do.Since I applied just last week I've yet to hear from any program.
