Hello everybody!
i'm starting this journal because i'm very lazy and disorganized-just by admitting this i'm aleardy feeling better.lol
was planning on taking ck in november-but probably it will happen in first week of december-don't want to take chances.
my plan is(like i mentioned in my other thred):
1.read kaplan lectures in parallel with g-book
2.read lectures for 2nd time in parallel with q-bank
3.read the books for the 3rd time in parallel with UW
4.one week befor the test just review first aid book.
sounds great,doesn't it?
but there's only one tiny problem-I HAVE TO STICK TO IT!!!!!that's why i've started this thread.
i'll post my progress in here-to keep myself motivated.
if there're others out there with the same problem-welcome-we'll help each other through.
now i'm done with PSYCH and doing IM-almost done.
today i have to finish emergency medicine.
oh,i completely forgot-don't be too tough on me if i get behind my schedule-i also work part time-fexible schedule.
but i'll try not to ashame myself,lol.

when do u have your exam?
plan is real solid one and even i wld love to do it this way but unforyunately have time constrains. just a month left.
if u do have ample time i think u r in for a 99....

i didn't book my test date yet,but aiming for 5-7 of december.

exam on the 30th. schedule?????? whats that?
to tell u the truth i have been preparing actually without any specific plan. did make a few schedules but within a couple of days it will be out of the window
so no more plans. just pickin up a book and studin.
done with kap tapes and started readin except peds. really scared of it...
doin usw side by side..
gonna take nbme 1 on the 2nd and then will make a schedule for the final time, if dont follow that gone are the little chances that are left for this years match...

i cant study sittin down with my books so took 30 days centre prep.

it's 2:15 am-i can't read anymore for today...
still have few pages left in emergency med.
tried to do questions in IM today-only did 50.i don't know how some people can do 100-150 questions per day.it takes me at least 3 hours to do 50 qs+explanations-brrrrr..
for tomorrow(actually for today) i'm planning to do another 50 qs from q-book and finally finish emerg med.and i also work tomorrow-what a horrible saturday....
nisha has just posted a wonderful link in her thread-for superstressed people-really helps.

hello alenka,
i've started with step 2 preparations now. i have usmle secrets, the pretest ebook, some ucv's and some blueprints. will start with internal medicine. i want to study with them till the end of december and do qbank usmleworld after that.
what do you say about my programme? where are you studying? i am in europe.

i'm in the US.
about your plan....hmm.it's good but i'd stil got kaplan lectures-it's the best.also a lot depends on haw long ago you graduated-it you are fresh grad-maybe you won't need anything....just kidding-tep 2 is tough so you need to study hard for it.

Does anyone know where one can find a list of residencies with their ranking like which ones are more competitive and which ones are less. Where do I find info like that?

i graduated in december 2002, that's three years ago, i am an sho in cv-surgery here in germany.
so you want to take part in 2007 residency?, thats what i also want.
i know we gonna achieve our goals...

yes i'm aslo an IMG.
about the Match-it all depends on how well i do on it.if the score is good-then i'd try for 2006,if not-definately 2007.but regardless-i have to be done with my test by the end of december-that's my deadline.
and yes-we are gonna achieve our goals.
befor i logged in here-i was so sleepy and tired-and now i'm ready to study-see-it works!-i should do a reaserch on this website and it's role in motivating people to study....lol

today i need to read at least 50 pages-no matter in what subject.i get very bored if i read the same subject for a long time-so now i'll try new tactic-see how it goes...
plus i need to do 100 questions.

so far i have done only 25 pages and 50 questions.
it took me 4 hours just to do the questions!-1 to answer and 3 to read the explanations-pretty sad,huh?
does anyone have the same "experience"?

Sometimes I also get depressed but I use the following defence mechanism,
Alenka everybody have their own capability. Also, one should know their own limitations. One should work upto their level best but not jeopardizing their own health.
Hence even if you have done 50 questions in 4 hours would be well enough if you have retain it well.
Some people will do 300 question per day with revision but if you ask them there would be nothing inside.

dont worry alenka.
have my exam in 3 weeks and still end up doin 46 qs from usw in one day, sometimes like today!!!!!!!!!!!!
and u guys still have all the time in the world..

drkpp-you are going on 31st,right?
i guess nobody feels prepared enough for this test.
one on my friend is taking ck in 2 weeks-she was studying for it for more that a year-and is still not feeling ready.
and i'm trying to prepare myself now that it's normal to freak out a little(for me it'll be a lot),not feel ready-it's just the anxiety.but i have decided one thing-i made a plan of what i'm gonna study and after i'm done with what i've planned-i'll pronounce myself ready,lol-even if i'm not feeling like it.
