hi i got a query from a program co ordinnator abt my visa status. i m apprehensive that they might not be understanding conditional permanent resident status as green card. uscis officer told me that all green cards come under permanent resident status even though first green card is issued for 2 yr only and need renewal. when we write conditional pr then people think we r not having green card . whats ur opinion on this.

well , i put conditional under my profile in eras. but when i got a query from hospital then i realized that this might hinder my chances of getting interviews. so i updated it to permanent status in profile and now i will clarify this to hospital.

Hi Dr Singh. I dont think its a wise idea. They have given category of conditional permenant then you have to fill that. It does not give nice impression to programs. you can include a sentence in your personal statement about your greencard. that would settle it. another thing. it is obvious if we put blank in expected visa that we dont have visa issues. Anyway this is just my opinion. keep in touch' goodluck

yeah right . i appretiate ur opinion but i think there is no clarity on what is meant by conditional permanent resident. nor the candidates nor the programs fully know what is meant by conditional pr. some assume it to be something different from green card. also they ask in application about giving expected visa types that u will be having during ur residency and / or curretn visa type. similiarly while i have cleared everything for green card and the delay is in because uscis takes time to process everything, that doesnt mean that we cant mark permanent residence in our profile. we r not hiding any fact and since i have cleared my case and interview, i can surely and safely say that my expected outcome is permanent resident. so i decided to update it. nevertheless , i appretiate ur opinion and invite other members to give their opinion on this matter.
