Hi there,
I have a score of 82 on step1,79 step2ck and pass CS.All first attempts and graduated in 2004.I have 2 months of observership exp in US and have a real good LOR from the director.I have applied to 83 IM programs,so far and i have already gotten 4 rejections.I wanted to know if anyone of you can tell me what I should do at this point to improve my application and what are my chances of matching for 2006? I do need visa and I will settle for J1 if I need to.Thanks for the suggestions.Waiting eagerly for a reply..

I have step 1 83,step 2 89 and passed CS,no USCE.8 rejections till now no interviews .
All we can do is to wait and pray.

Guys, I think it's still early.... although i already got 8 interviews ......... i know how you feel but don't worry about it too much now....gotta wait 2 more weeks at least then start calling and asking ..... most university programs haven't started sending invitations yet i think....but some do though... 3 of my calls from university programs. We are getting there.... just hang on there for two more weeks ...then start the battle. My best wishes to everyone in this "rat" game.

Can you please just tell us a bit about your credentials (scores, USCE, USLORs, year of graduation, your medical school reputation)

yeah waytodr they send you emails for rejections.I dont know ELM whether I should be optimisstic or not I have already gotten 6 rejections and no interview calls. You think I should start calling up the programs and asking them about my status.I dont know the approach can you please advise further on the issue.THANKS

calls will help ... u know ur status. some dont send the reject letters and we keep waiting to hear from em .. when u call they tell u u have not been selected... so if u get a chance call. helps with better planning and reduces false hopes!

I only contacted my favorite program to enquire about my application they said that they just started reviewing 2 weeks ago and have not come to my application yet they said they will need more time before they come up with a reply.For many programs though they have sent out interview calls are still reviewing applications.

If the PD said we will keep your file for any unexpected changes in circumstances.
What does that mean? Is he serious or a polite way of rejection?

I think it means that you have been put on the waiting list and if someone drops out, you may be contacted.

My gut feeling telling me it's just a rejection<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Anybody encounter the same thing?

yup ... i had called a program and they told me i was on hold .. and i asked the co ordinator wat that really meant. she was nice enuff to explain that they will review it if they dont get their spots filled up but... that was highly unlikely .. a week later i got the rejection letter. so go figure!!
