hi all i just appeared for step 2 ck yesterday. The exam was just a little less difficulty level than usmle world. the questions were long mostly. time was sufficient. i could complete every set in about 50 - 55 minutes. I prepared from kaplan notes and kaplan q book initially. then i took NBME and realised that the real exam is different from kaplan q book. result, i had to postpone my date for 3 weeks to start doing usmle world. prepared total about 1.5 months . i was working along with it so studied in evenings and weekends. So my advise is to not rely on q book. the questions are too easy as compared to the real exam. My exam has loads of gynae/ obs. medicine still formed the bulk i think. not much of step 1 content. only 1 ecg, 2 x rays. all the best to all.

hi ammasara and drkpp i did only the kaplan lecture notes. finished them almost twice. i was getting 80-85% in kaplan q book. when i did nbme i scored 570. i started usmle world, was scoring about 60% to start and averaged about 70% by the time i appeared for the exam. Did not do nbme again. But i did feel that usmle world pattern was much similar to the real exam than q book. I think after doing the q book i was feeling very elated and nbme served as a shock therapy when i saw the questions were not as easy as in q book. i would suggest do nbme when u have done one rivision and try to assess yourself, at least 3-4 weeks before the exam and then u will have time to make the adjustments before the real exam. hope it helps.

Hi,braunwald: Thank you sharing your experience. And good luck to your score. A question for you. Since you have cleared step 2, are you considering selling your kaplan notes. I want to take step 2 in the near future and will be interested in buying a kaplan notes.
