hi guys, i was wondering if i could apply for the match when i have only passed step 1 and other steps are to be taken in january? and any links that could help me on the steps needed to be taken for applying?thanks

go to eras website and yes you can apply only with step 1 scores.and be quick .

its very difficult for an img to match only with step1 score ....unless you have USCE, research exp with papers published or superb US-LORs.since you will take other steps in jan, you will be too late for the match.besides if you read carefully, some programs wont even screen your application if you are not ecfmg- certified (which you have to be before starting residency).
its a routine thing for amgs, who generally apply with step1 scores only !
dont waste your money, get ready for the next match when you will have everything ready beforehand ! GL.

doky, i wld say go ahead and apply. i am gonna do the same. first its a question of a few hundred bucks, secondly you will come to know of the whole process and most imp. who knows might even get a few interview calls. also there is post match scrammble and if nothin works out there is always 2007..... .
at the end of the day just for a few bucks u wldnt want to feel for the rest of the next year thinkin i might have matched if if if if if if i wld have applied.... u know peace of mind...

same situ here.. dont get disheartened - u got nothin to lose by applyin this yr apply to only the places where u wud wanna go next yr. dont shortchange ur applis to lower progs.. and GL
