Yes, Id like to prepare for the 2005 match, but think it would be more realistic to go for 2006. How hard is it to get into residency here? What colleges know about the education program in Iran and tend to be more friendly? If you have a answer please reply.

Well actually I'm not sure I can take part in Match 2005. I'm sitting for Step 1 in late June, so I'll be short of time for Step 2CK and Step 2CS. Do you think you'll be in time for all steps?

I don't believe that their familiarity with our system of medical education would be of any importance. However iranian system in its framework is largely compatible with american one.

Hello, I would recommend being sure you are able to come first, a friend of mine got 99 on 1 and 98 on 2 and wasnt able to obtain a visa...so be sure of that first...and also ask someone in amozesh of university to put a mohr on it...thats what the friend did....

Hi,
I am in London and aiming for a match in 2005 application will be sent by October 10th is that too late do you think, scores are pretty average....80 ??? I am wondering if I am applying too late...good luck everyone

I suppose it's late as apparently u've got no interview appoinments; but you'd better visit the NRMP website for official info.

I'm half persian and I'm currently a first year medicine student in the Philippines. I studied pharmacy as a pre-med course. I heard that I could take MLE step one after my second year. I'm planning to take it as early as then to make room for improvements in test scores.
Any tips?

You'd better take it in the third year, but be careful as with low scores you'll have little chance of finding a position!

I live in Tehran and I'm planning toward match 2007.But I won't register for the MLE's till I can find a certain way for visa.
I think that J-1 is practically out of question for iranians and I'm working on other ways.
anybody has a suggestion?

Hi Hossein,
I encourage you to sit for Step1&2 as soon as you can. Don't let that to the time you can obtain a visa!

as a matter of fact I'm also thinking about taking step 1 in 8 months...if anybody got any answer for visa please share...
Mexico has got a threat with over 2000 posts...I'm sure there are lots of Iranians heading over US.so let's share the experiences it's at least heartening...
