I have a problem, I sent my LORs, transcript and a photo to ERAS. The problem is that I sent one ORIGINAL LoR of the best I have in which I donīt waive my rights to see them, I understand that these letter that we donīt waive ... we must send a copy and let the original with us. So thatīs my problem, I sent the original one and i donīt have any copy of it. So if I use it and in the interviews they ask me for the original I wonīt have it, what am i gonna do?

I wrote ERAS and they simply told me that they are gonna scan my documents and shred them and they wonīt send me a copy or nothing = they DONīT CARE.

What do you think ?? Any idea or suggestion is really welcome

Yes, that's one of the unfortunate things, they state on their web page as well that don't send any originals because all documents will not be returned...the only way I see is that if it is possible for your original source to issue u another copy (most sources make a copy for themself) or just get them to write another one. And on the interview tell the truth about what happened.

I think u'll get another copy easily.Shudn't be a problem.

Help me understand why do v have to do this way.I have send copies of LOR to ERAS.I'll get another one ,do u think I shud do the same(send a copy). Is that ok or do we have to send the sealed original one.Sorry I don't understand some of this stuff.Thnaks for ur input on that.

No, you have to send copies, they always say that. I screwed it up because i sent an original and i donīt have any copy of it, now iīll try to get a copy but it wonīt be easy because they gave me that LOR in USA and Iīm in Mexico, but iīll try it.

I have a question, why must we keep a copy of the LOR? When would we need to show the original one? during the interview? Then what about the LORs that we waive the right to see them? Since we didn't access the original LOR, we don't have the copy at all! So it doesn't make any sense to simply hold a copy for the ones that we didn't waive the right to see. please let me know what this is about. thanks!

what I knew is that of those that we donīt waive the right, we should have a copy and send the copy to ERAS.

those who we waived the right, we obviously donīt have a copy.
