loop diuretics like frusemide act on ascending loop of henle and decrease calcium absorption there fore it decrease calcium in blood and increase in urine
and thiazides act on early DCT it increase calcium absorption and increase calciumin blood and decrease in urine .there fore it is also used if pt having kidney stone it decrease cal in urine

So what do you prescribe the loops or the thiazides. The patient has hypercalcemia not hypercalciuria. I am confused.
