Hey Springd and drvic! Stay positive, I think you'll soon get more interviews in mid Oct. I have 2 more interviews from Houston - Baylor and UT Houston. Quite excited about Baylor although I'm quite nervous to go for interview there! Keep us all updated and good luck! Drvic, all the best for your CS. It's not that difficult.

Hey Springd, I applied to Albert Einstein in PA and I got an interview there. I'm not too sure about the program but I choose it cuz of the location. It's a small comunity program, I think. The other bigger one is St Christopher and of course, the best is CHOP which is very hard to get into. Dont know about Mt Sinai and Schnider. Good luck! I received an invitation from SUNY Stony Brook yesterday. U can try that - it's in Long Island and away from the maddening Manhattan.

hi all, got some more calls...not even a single outright rejection so far... but unsure about scheduling of interviews for whatever calls i have so far... so need your opinion guys - if i had to choose, what would be the best time for taking all my interviews in one trip to the US - visa is not a problem as i have a 10-yr multiple entry one. i know each interview is a whole-day affair, so adequate planning and travel itinerary detailing beforehand is very essential for optimal utilisation of time and money: so should it all be kept for first 3 weeks of Dec OR first 3 weeks of Jan??? is jan too late? i'm hoping to have my CS result by Dec hopefully... any tips or suggestions would be welcome...

drvic, I heard that there is no difference in when one attends the interview to a successful match. So Jan is not late. I have received more calls and I think you might have been right not to have applied to so many programs. Now I too am left with dilemma of choosing which interviews to go. vikki, I think UIC is a good program and IMG friendly. Did you get an interview from there? mash, sorry to hear about SUNY Upstate. I'm sure you'll have plenty of other invitations given your credentials

sanz,usmlev..., drivic, mash, hey guys, you are the coolest, thanks so much for taking ur time to write ur inputs.... usmlev.., sanz, u guys have so many interviews so far, and in good places! GL guys, now comes the hardest part of planning the trips and spending all that money. Drivic, how is it going? i think there wont be any difference b/n Dec and Jan, but i think Dec better for u b/c as u will get more interviews and most slots fill up in Jan, u may not have enough time, if u choose Dec, it gives u some room to add in more interviews as they come, but its just my opinion. Everyone, please summarize ur progress so far, and how many programs u applied to and when, so that we can see where we stand , hehe.... mine, applied to 24 prog. so far, calls: sinai baltimore,st.barnabas, albany rej:utmb galveston, syracuse my lor's not uploaded yet, i hope i get more when they do get uploaded, if they dont decide to discard my applications by then

hey great to see a flurry of activity with everybody here....hope it comes out well for all of us in the end.. hey vikki, i've got 4 calls only, and one (U Iowa) said they were still considering my applic...dunno what that means...keeping my fingers crossed....still no rejections atleast.... hadn't applied to Baylor coz they had mentioned some USCE requirements for IMGs in their requirements for the program at their website(if i remember correctly)...so i've carefully skipped all those programs where my profile doesn't fit in with the program's requirements.... plus i didn't apply to any place on the west coast...it will cost me a fortune just to go for, say one interview there.... if they are clustered in one region it proves to be more cost effective... so you have to factor in the cost considerations....especially when u have other obligations too... one specific info i need from u guys to help me plan my things...how long is the christmas and new year's break/vacation? either i should finish all my interviews before it begins....so that i'm not left in US waiting for a week or 10 days for some more interviews later, without doing anything...OR i should come for the interviews after this vacation ends...and then schedule all my interviews in Jan only. if anybody knows, please provide me this info...it would really help me plan it out... thank you sanz and springd, your suggestions were helpful... hey springd, you'll rock the party when your LORs go up on the website and calls will come knockin at yo' door..best of luck to you...and everybody! cheers,

hi all, i second what mash just said... any info on the overall content of the interviews...? i understand that you attend the morning report and the teaching session/lecture etc for the day and then have interactions with a few faculty/attendings...but do they put questions to you to test your overall knowledge? any experiences or previous knowledge gleaned from the experiences of others??? any info would be welcome...keep sharing...

Hi Most programs dont ask questions testing your medical knowledge.I think for that they trust USMLE. Some programs do ask medical questions. I have heard brookdale peds ask medical questions. good luck to all
