Hi,

I have heard from friends that people having a US permanent residency/ greencard are given preference over the other IMGs. Is that true?

obviously. even some good fellowship programs now put this requirement for the applicants

it´s true since many programs (you can confirm it in their websites) ask for this requirement and they say specifically they don´t give any visa. So, yes, it´s true in these group of hospitals.

Other programs don´t care if you have GC/PR/need visa, they look for other things.

As bbb says: different programs, different rules. or something like that. smiling face
