HI:

Hope you all are doing great..actually i need to know one thing..i think all of you have done kaplan simulated exam before your exam.what is the score i should get to pass the exam..

my exam is in withinin 4 days..i took it yesterday and found it pretty tough..and ended up with 75%..i really don't know that with this score i should go for the exam or i should postpond the exam..because i asked one and he got 83%..

I am asking only kaplan simulated because i did NBME part one but to see the score i thought i have seen some questions before so i could not believe that score..and then i just did kaplan exam that i never have seen before..

please guys share your score that i can feel a little more confident before my exam otherwise i have to postpond my exam..

hi,

well first of all ur score is very good because it's in percentage, and in step1 u need atleast 50-60% of the q's correct to pass this exam! Also i don't know how much does kaplan simulated exam correlate with the real one, which might be slim at best!

Now, whether u want to postpone, or not, it's upto to ur best interest, but take my advice, don't postpone it on the account of ur kaplan scores!

usmlee, I would not postpone the exam because of the Kaplan simulated score. In fact i think you did quite well. I did really well on the Kaplan simulated but not well on the NBME and even worse on the actual exam. So take heart and have confidence in your abilities. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Your score really is great. Also depends on what you are aiming at. There is no strict rule but we kemcolians (who actually dont use nbme and only do kaplan simulated ) have a saying( not much accurate but is a good guess ) that your actual score is kaplan score % + 20 +/- 4

For you it gives b/w 91-99 , which we say depends on the day of exam. This is just a favourite opinion of a lot of my buddies although i dont agree it with exactly and am waiting for my own result to see how true it was for me.

Thank you very much ..I really really appreciated for your reply..Actually i also don't want to postpond..i am already very tired and want to finish ASAP..

To bluecatback kaplan simulated cd is totally different from qbook and qbank..Atleast i did not find any same question from book and bank..and i got it from one of my friend and it is 2003 version..

Actually i have that version too..but i thought kaplan updated thats why i asked my friend to send me that..but they are both same..
