For the past 3 years i have worked for a prestigious insurance company. I hold a very good position, worked on some important projects, though started entry level and worked my way up with persistence and dedication. Im well known by VPs and 2nd VPS. My question is, even if its not related to medicine directly, should i include this experience in my CV, and Also in the CAF. I know i have to explain this big gap in the personal statment (3 years) they will want to know where i have been. I had to find work, im really better paid now than average Residency program, but my passion is medicine. I want to go back, though I had to work my steps and CS exam, and have family and kids to support. Do I have to put this info, will it be negative? This might sound ridiculous, but can i have LORs from my company's management? Just asking. Anybody interested in helping me will be greatly appreciated...

well i would not advise you to get LORs from company management ......... you need clinicians giving you a reco...........US practising physicians.................. or practising physicians anywhere else if you do not have USLOR, but please dont put company LORs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i think you should be honest in you personal statement, honesty is the best policy....anywhere and everywhere,,,,,,,at the same time you can word it nicely,,,,,,,,,,so that it does not sound very blunt...........explaining your reason for the gap in a real nice manner would do fine i guess all the best with the match......have a blast

well you should of course include your current job, its all in the eras, just fill it up truthfully and thats it...........your cv is ready .......... try not to show a break in your cv if- you are an old grad..........just fill it up chronologically. all the very best................ sharvil
