I have B1/B2 visa and next time when I visit States I intend to take usmle exams. Before I take,(I would like at first) Step 2 CK, I would like to enter some school for nostrification for IMGs, or Caplan, to prepare myself for exams. My question is simple : I will have time limit to stay 6 months and I think that nobody can't pass all three steps within 6 months of staying in States. So, will I get extension in INS, when I show them my appointed exam for Step 2 SC ?? My second option is next : I have also Nurse diploma and if I find Hospital to sponsor me for working visa, will they ask from me some requirements, ie. working for them in next five years? That way, I could enxance my time for passing all three steps. But, what do you thing about working as a nurse and preparing yourself for tests in the same time?

The only exams you must take in the US are USMLE step 2cs and step 3. I don't think it's practical to try and take all the steps in 6 months anyhow. Most extensions will be declined without a very good reason; if the reason is poor advance planning, then I doubt such an extension would be granted. Your B1/b2 may be issued for shorter than 6 months too. CGR
