I am a US med student and took step 1 for the second time in August. Don't have my results back yet but tried oasis and it wouldn't work for my usmle ID. However, did try to register for step 1 again on the nbme.org website and it let me register even though my score report has not been mailed. Does that mean I failed again?? I have not been able to sleep or concentrate for the entire month. I did not feel good about the exam after taking it the second time and am now convinced that my worst nightmare has come true. this means that i will have to take a year off from school to prepare for step 1 for the third time. I have been crying all day. I am currenltly in a rotation and can't concentrate knowing that i will be taken out of it once the results have been reported to my med school. i don't know what to do and i am feeling very depressed and am wondering if I am truly cut out for this profession. it is my life dream but it is becoming deferred. Help??

hey....don't give up without finding out for sure. I heard Oasis trick does not always work and probably is not true for US students. And until scores are mailed there is no point checking Oasis. So keep the faith. I am sure you'll do okay. When did you take your exam. I took mine on Aug 18 and my results were reported Sept 14.

Oasis is only right 80% of the time. I hope it everything works out for you. Good luck.
