Hello, folks, I got my score today, 242/98, quite a surprise to me! Materials used: Kap video lecture Kap notes (2005) Blueprints: Psych (3rd edi), Ped (3rd edi) FA 2005 CMDT 2005 NMS 2005 Questions: Pretest series (except for Ped) Mock Exam UW (58% 2 m b4 test) Kap qbank (75%) Kap IM bank (good for training of time management) Kap Q book (74%) NMS (just learning) USMLE CD (39, 37, 41, 3, 2, 1 mo b4 test resp) Kap simulation (70%, 2 wk b4 test) NBME form II (450, 8 wk b4 test) and I (550, 2 wk b4 test) I never got great scores doing these questions, the only time I felt good is after the real exam. This forum helped me a lot!! Some Docs are so nice, like Hamidi, and that really boosted my study. Wish best luck to all of you. icecool

Congratulations on the great score, icecool! Could you please explain how Blue Prints in differnt from the Kaplan notes for Peds and Psych? Did you use them in addition to or instead of the Kaplan books? How useful were they to your study? Did you find the O & G for Kaplan sufficient? I have more questions for you when you have answered these! This forum is really great for getting first hand unbiased answers from recent real test takers. Thanks in advance!

Folks, thanks for sharing the happiness with me. I wish best luck for you guys too. To LisaM: for Ped, I used mainly Kap note and used Blueprints for Cardiovascular dis in addition to the notes. Blueprints Psy has many exellent tables and good in pharmacological side effects. Kap OB/GYN video and notes are both good. I did have a lot OB/G qs in the real exam, many qs I was not sure. My report in this section is in upper performance. Since my Kap score are in lower 70s, I think Kap notes will be enough for this exam. One thing I forgot to mention is FA step3, I just glanced it twice in the last a few weeks. It is good for mgt. The real exam is not as hard as you might think, go through UW and Kap Qs, pay attention to time mgt, and relax, relax, relax.

Thank you for your answers, Icecool. I am still in the phase of collecting study materials and refining my strategy for the exam and your answers have been very helpful. Could you please tell the duration of your preparation and how you used FA (only FA step 3 or steo 2 as well?), CMDT and NMS (NMS internal medicine text or NMS question book?) Did you rely on them completely for or specific topics or studied them for better understanding of Kaplan notes? What is Kap IM bank? Thanks again!
