Hey guys,

first af all to introduce myself I'm an IMG, graduated in 2001, married and having a 3 years old boy, resident in laboratory medicine .

I'm planning to sit for step 1 somewhere in august-sept next year. Thank God I found this forum and you guys cause I wouldn't know where to start...It took me almost a month to get an ideea about the books i need and another few weeks to have them. I begun with microbiology , my strongest subject to give me some confidence in this long road. Fortunately right now I'm working in bacterio lab and this will help me a lot.

I will try to keep a diary about my study progress I will be here for some time and hope also to make new friends.

So now I study micro from Levison and Jawetz, I have 30 pages left from bacterio....

bye...my son is calling....

so I finally finished micro and started parasitology, also trying to review my notes and do many Q. It is going really slow, I don't have much time to study, only 2-3 hours a day and nights..

Hi Vallia,

I've also just found out this forum too. I'm a postdoc in a lab and I'm a foreign graduate. I also have about 2-3 hrs to work for the exam, but I have to study more cause I want to take the first step before summer next year.

I finished only Biochem from Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews. Ithink it is a good book, today I'm starting Ganong's physio...

Good luck!

Thanks Kerochi. I got the impression that most people prefer the FA Series + Questions as much as possible. What do you say?

Thanks,
GT
