Dear All, just received the pleasant news that I passed Step 3. It took only 3 and 1/2 weeks for the results to be in the mail. As an IMG (Pediatrician trained in Germany & Australia) I used First Aid Step 3 (it's -just- ok, the cases are high yield) & Crush the Boards (liked it better) for background information and used occasionally other Texbooks (especially the German "Herold Innere Medizin") to read things up. I the used the Kaplan question book (liked it) and NMS Review USMLE Step 3 (boy, did I hate this book - very picky questions and very unlike the real exam). I spent about 4 hours playing around with the 5 CCS-cases on the CD-ROM provided by USMLE - that's enough to get comfortably through the exam. Got 221/91. Good luck to all test takes - may the force be with you! S.

No, didn't use usmleworld.com - the review books and the free USMLE CD-Rom provide by far enough information. Cheers, S.

hey PEDS!! CONGRATULATIONS... the Step 3 forum is getting really quiet huh? THe Match forum is the one that's busy.. hehe, that is why I was telling DEV to study and stop chatting!! haha... Neways, I'm doing the KAPLAN Step 3 notes and videos, (done with PEDS, OBGYN, SURG and PSYCH!) Doing Internal Medicine in the following weeks and planning to take it on November first week. So the USMLE CD ROM cases and the practice cases in Kaplan should suffice with the CCS? I'm on a tight budget coz of this upcoming match so I'm limiting my resources.. and thanks for that warning about NMS... hehe... will not read it anymore then... I'm also doing CRUSH for Step 3... and that's it! Will try supplementing with my KAPLAN CK Notes. What you think Peds DOC? How long did you study for Step 3 btw? I have 1 month to go... but I study full time. thanks, your input would mean a lot to me.

The FMSB has a table for Step 3 eligibility and requirements... You can apply to CA, CT, ARKANSAS... when you try registering for Step 3 you'll find the table I'm referring to... Besides the ECFMG Certificate, all you need to do is mail the certification of identity (notarized anywhere in the world) to FSMB and that's it! All the best...
