hi guys
how ru? to jayakrishan and nonstopdoc i hope ur residency is going on fine.hey guys can u give some advice regarding how to prepare for step 3.i am getting confused and scared.

did u guys give ur step 3? which board did u choose?what books are u stuyding from.please reply?
by the way what field of medicine are u applying residency for.i am interested in internal medicine.

hi dev,
i havent taken it yet but plan to take it by november. I am using kaplan fr step 3/ strong medicine/ crush the boards.
I am applying to pediatrics mainly and IM too.
how is ur application process going ?

i am applying basically to internal medicine only.
i sent my applications now i am crossing my fingers and waiting

hey guys, hoping to join in! I'm doing CRUSH, and KAPLAN. Don't you guys think that the Step 3 stuff are sort of lacking in information?? And is CRUSH really high yield? I'm doing the other subjects.. putting IM last in my list...somehow I think studying for IM the last would help me remember it more.. hehe..
Neways... hope to get more input.. have 1 more month to study, and MASH, I will also take it on NOVEMBER... hope to get motivated as well... this freaking waiting game is giving me the jitters...

hello guys, long time no activity at all in this forum
i gave my exam yesterday
felt very tough,lot of questions from primary care, ethics,preventive medicne, i felt i was only guesssing all answers, time not enough, ccs , missmanaged two of the cases but all patients got better finally,its not like step 1 or 2 ,i felt that hands on clinical experience in US would have made a lot of difference .i used step 3and step2 kaplan notes ,first aid step2, some topics in swanson (very difficult to read),ccs used passfirst and usmle cd, very helpfull, i felt i concentrated last few days more on ccs and ignored mcq's well ccs is not that scary,i also felt that q were not out of the world but i think i was weak in above topics and felt that kaplan in this areas was not enough.exam is more like a final year resident oriented approach lot of things do not require any knowledge just only experience, iam not sure whether i will pass or not fingers crossed

congratulations!!! you are now officially done with all steps... thanks white ur advice helped me a lot.but i have few questions
1-how many days did u take for preparation?
2-how many times did u study everything?
3-what is the exam paatern like i mean day1 and day 2?

officially 3 months ,lot of interruptions,moved overseas,and recently i gave step 2 so its like a continues flow ,started immedietly, revised step 2 once ,kaplan step 3 twice,day one is like an extension of step 2, 7 blocks,similar to step2, very exhausting,day two is 4 blocks and 9 ccs,not very exhausting ,very comfortable .any way are u applyin for 2006 match dev?

i wish they were my scores , well my scores are in step 1 eihties and step 2 mid ninties, so not very lucky, well yah iam also applyin for internal medicne, did u apply?

it seems i m in the same boat you are.I apply for IM too and
I just started my studying for step-3(just bought today the FA for step-3).
How long do you intend to prepare and what books do you use?
Will it be enough FA & UW?
And besides, what visa do you apply for?

i haven't taken any date yet.
i was planning to take it by nov but i think i ll have to postpone it.
I am really worked up abt the whole application process so, am not able to study well.
I ve gotten 5 calls so far. how abt u? I am keeping my fingers crossed.
are u doing something right now or just preparing fr step 3?
if u r not working, we can study together online. just lemme know.

Wasnt able to check this forum lately... hehe.. been busy with the application as well! Got 4 interview calls... but by hook or by crook I'm taking this Step3 exam by NOV! I'm scoring 70% in Qbook... DANG!! Just finished with Kaplan Step 3 Books and vidz... doing crush on the side and just doing questions...

hi light, you should add 15% of what ever your getting in these exams... so the minimum should b 60%..
