Any tips about what all I should read regarding step 2 CK before starting CS studies?

From step 2 CK - I would say, look at the case listings on the study material that you are using. Then prepare the D/Ds and 2-5 investigation lists for each thouroughly ..and practice writing them on the patient note (template available on the ECFMG site)
The reverse study works better !! Yeah ...once u have the D/Ds and Investigations for each symptom group on the tip of ur tongue...history taking is simplified since you will know what to ask and what negative history to ask ..depending on the D/D list for that symptom..know wut I mean ?

I have only so much time? Trying to meet deadlines for 2006 applications. Also how much CK review do I need to do before starting CS prep? Im planning on quickly going through Int. med kaplan book before CS prep. That begins on the 19th sep.
