Hi guys,
I did 1 reading of Kaplan then took UW got average 45% after completing whole UW (all timed,unused,46 Q block)
I read kaplan again and started UW again, now in 8 timed unused 46 Q blocks got average of 63%.
I still have 20 days in my exam but I m doing a full time job so can spare effectively only evening time and weekends.
confused Please suggest me is this UW score now is OK to take the exam after 20 days? confused
I need just to clear my exam. of course better to have good score but not worried about the score because my aim is to get ECFMG certificate and not going for match or residency.
Please reply soon. Highly appreciate ur advise.
Thank u

Hi. Here is my experience in CK after i scored 99.
I can summarize what needs to be done and how. However, no body can tell you how long it wil take you to be well prepared cause this is mainly based on your academic background, experience, and available study time. This is why you need to plan ahead to acheive what is required.
First, it might be a good idea to have a very quick reading to the main subjects aiming to grasp and understand the underlying princiles without trying to learn them by heart. I mean you need to qickly go through IM, Ped, Obs & Gyn, Psy, Sur. This first round should not take you a long time. The choice of your rources is not detremintal, try to read simple and short references remembering that your aim is to gain a good understanding of those subjects. So choose the books that you like. I personally red High yield for Obs and Psy, kaplan for ped and surgery and Med study for IM ( i really dont recommend medstudy as it is vey complicated and difficult, Step up to medicine might be a very good choice for usmlae).
Second, you need to go through your question banks, UW is a must, do ir first and repeat your wrong qustions. I found kaplan q book easy but still helpfull. I also found that blue print Q&A for ped and gyn were great. The usmle mock exam is also a very good resource.
After that, you might need a couple of weeks to revise, for example i revised the high yeild tables and blue print Q&A for obs & Gyn, went thugh blue print book for psy in 2 days and read the psychiatric medications few times. I also revised the blue print tables for ped.
However, my exam experience was horrible. I felt the exam was tougher than any question bank that i had done before ( thisis personal feeling and might not be the rule), i felt that every question was targeting my weak poin and i had to make an effort to answer each question. The easy knee jerk questions were not seen. After my exam i was only able to remember my mistakes and was not sure that i correctly answered 50% f the questions. Any way, my feelings were wrong and i was extremely hapy when i saw my 256/99 score. It was one of the happiest days of my life. The taste of success is so sweet that you cant forget. I dont usually like writing and exchanging information, but because this site was of a great help to me during my preparation, i have decided to share.

Good luck to all of the hard working people.
