Hi there!! I'm in Puerto Rico, but i am from Cuba. This was the first time I study in English, so it wasn’t easy. Sharvil, thanks a lot for your post, it was really ver very encouraging !!! Already passed Step 1, and take Step 2 CK last dec. 7, so I’m desperate to get the score. I am not very sure if I did well, the questions were too large for me, although not very difficult at all.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I studied by myself by Kaplan Q bank, Usmleworld (3 month) and did Usmle CD before the exam. Do you guys think that is enough? Do I need any other books? What about the Step 2 FA? Hope someone answer !! Thanks !! And Ciap2211

thanks for the kind words and appreciation, it means a lot to me. well wusga, i think 3.5 to 4 months is enough for step 2 ck, provided your basics are clear....quality of reading is more important rather than quantity, so i guess if u devote yourself full time , quality time for reading, i think u shud be fine. all the best. well sailingship, i think kaplan notes were very useful, as for the lectures i dont know because i did not attend them. i borrowed notes from my friend who attended kaplan, so he had written all the extra points they say in the lectures onto his notes. yeah there were quite a few extra points written all over which very pretty useful. hola! ciap...........well all the best for your results, they will be great, just relax and enjoy the holiday season, well i m trapped here in new york with the subway strike paralysing the city. MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! and may all ur dreams come true in this new year, which will bring us all joy and happiness!! god bless thanks again for all the appreciation.

Now i want to read his notes for step 2.I bought his audio lecture from eBay,but I did not get the note from eBay. Dai you try Goljan's notes? If so,where did you buy it? Thanks in advance.

hi shyamal, thanks for the comments, i used goljan notes for step 1 and they were amazin, i loved em but for step 2 i did not have much time so stuck with kaplan, plus i was just out of med school and so had all my medicine and surgery and obgyn and peds very fresh in my mind. but certainly goljan is an excellent review course. but i cannot give u a definite answer for step 2 because i have not tried it first hand. all the best on your journey and u will definitely reach the destination............. sharvil

hi ciap, congratulations!!! all the very best for cs.......... yes the usmleworld website was most useful for cs.....infact that is what i did for cs...excellent cases. but the key for cs is to practice with some friend. practice practice and some more practice is required..........your words should be loud, clear and slow so that the patient can understand. in fact CS = communication skills rather than clinical skills............. all the best, sharvil

Sharvil, thank you for that post. It's true, one needs to get obsessed with the idea, to score well. The difficulty lies in sustaining the optimism and I think your tips about constant stimulation are useful.
