hi, Iam totally confused with the special reqirements for IL and TX......i called a few programs in each state and none of them seem to have the info..... anyone who has applied to these places,please clarify.thank u!

there are no special requirements for Texas to get in to residency, except sometimes Board wants AACRAO evaluation of your medical diploma (generally it happens if nobody from your medical school has been licensed in Texas before) there are special requirements to get a permanent Texas license, but you don't need a permanent license unless you plan to practice in Texas

thanks yelenatx and cgr2005, with illinois,the question of '4 weeks psychiatry' is pretty confusing as many programs dont seem to know about this reqirement.any way i can find clear info on this issue? THANKS guys!

accdg to my friend who recently got his license in ILLINOIS.. re the 4 weeks psychiatry... 2 weeks should come from your CORE CURRICULUM in medical school.. and the other two weeks, can be from outside (internship... or whatever), as long as you provide documentation for these... everything will be ok

you can also call the state board of ILLINOIS for this info, but I'm sure of this...
