Two things.
From what I have heard and learnt from this forum you do stand a chance.IM being the easiest for IMGS. Dont ask me the percentage coz I am not that learned either!
A good idea would be to get rid of that self reproaching id.Just an innocent suggestion..

Thank u so much for encouging me........u sound like a person with a greater heart.......i need ur favour........as how to improve my chances in IM.........atleast how many programs should i apply..........my bad luck is that most programs like 80.........i have a step1 of 88 but step2 .79......wat a bad luck .............y not 80..............so should i apply to such programs or not???????

The threshold of 80 refers only to some programs, and even then, many programs still look at the whole application - like your LORs. So don't be disheartened, go for it! Your applications are much more than just your USMLE scores!!

Well i have heard that step3 counts only for H1B visa..........if u say that step3 can improve my chances............then definitely I will be aiming at 99......n i know i can do it.....

You are in the way Doc, your application is more than your USMLE scores, you REALLY can get a position in IM, so just do it!. I donīt know if step 3 makes a difference in the application, a friend of mine told me that it doesnīt make any difference, maybe BBB could enlighten us on this.
