That woman clearly uses splitting: everything is either great or horrible, nothing in the middle. Ritu, how did you like exam master? what do you think of it?

yes it really sounds so close to splitting but what about this.. idealization is a defense mechanism that splits something you are ambivalent about into two representations--one good and one bad... explanation and the example in this question is so similar to the splitting but in splitting person thinks for example all doctors are excellent but all nurses are annoying etc...i think this is a little bit different thats why i am thinking answer would be B

Hi everyone! i have to admit i never read brs for behavioral. i did hy and kaplan notes, and neither recognizes idealization as a separate defence mechanism. Everything that splits goes to splitting. So, do you mind telling me more about idealization defence mechanism with examples and how exactly brs tells it apart from splitting. Thank you in advance guys

hi, this question is right out of NMS. And actually the keys to this question are that the patient believes that one person is all good and one person is all bad. There is no grey area. She has split the personalities into one or the other.

i'd go for splitting , clearly to this women one is all good and one is all bad, which happens in splitting.
