Hi simmi,docbug,nasrin and all ,
how to start the studies do we go thro the nms chapterwise first and then the review book which ever we have bcoz the notes seem to be less and then take down important points? really confused and gl to all bbg

I am new to this forum.I graduated in 1997.Have been a stay at home mom.Have 2 kids. I need to take the steps for my own sanity . I plan to take it in mid - late Feb.I want to start with Step 2.I feel more confident abt these subjects.Did one block from NMS.Got a 37% score.But the last time I went over these subs was in '97, so I wont let that pull me down.I plan to start with OBGyn tomorrow.How many pages a day is the general target.I am starting with 25 a day.Any suggestions?
Plan to use Kaplan notes & dvd's
Is anyone using the First Aid.The new edition is coming out oct 28.

i really dont know , I have been asking the same ques, how to start & how long it takes to do the first reading, but no one seems to answer, or maybe we all are new to step2 CK, but if anyone knows plz give us some tips.
Hi Nosha, I just started IM did Gastro & Rheumatology, & same from pediatrics.
Does anyone know whatreference books are best, please post .

hi nusha simmi and all group simmi what is your study material how many page u can read every day how many hour u can read every day if it is kaplan my frift reading take 2 mounth of course witha child and inmy oponion u have done the right thing to choose 2 speciality because it is boaring to do one subjec olone and my advice do the test from advance and about material every succesful people recommend kaplan lecture Qbook Q bank uw but u have to read mechanism of the disease from another sourse good luck

hI ALL,since we r new like how u said I think we r bit overwhelmed too by the sheer volume but with determination we all can ace this exam like how we did the first part since we have a motivated team and support of good friends. We will read our review book and then refer the textbook which we have for notes for medicine i think cmdt is the best others I am not sure.anyhow gl to all yet to gear up for the studies bbg

i'm going to start studying for step 2 as well. i live in london . have worked in hospitals here but now have decided 2 move 2 the us, i 've bought kaplan lecture notes and some blueprints, what do u think? whick one should i start first? nice c u guys here and good luck with ur studies

i see that you are in Atlanta, me too . My exam is in October and i have done uw once, Kaplan notes twice. Do you study at home or in the library? I need a study partner for the last weeks.

Hi guys , didnt do Infectious diseases yesterday, so decided to do Endo today. Few things like Parathyroids & DM still to be done. I went to the library today , that is what I'll be doing everyday(cant study at home, always end up doing chores at home).
Will listen to the Endo lec today, hope i finish it, how is everyone else doing????
plz keep posting that is the best way to keep up ur motivation !!!

i was listening to Endo lec, havent finished yet, but i like the way he is explaining, (sometiimes it seems he will never stop) but i liked him better than GI one.
But it is better u wait for some more opinions .

In my opinion pls go to Exam experience ,you will find your answer ,what I hav eheard ppl saying and it smy experince too that step 1 should be aheaded before, step 2 becomes much more easier after that .Besides ,once u have learnt basics you dont need to go back and refer step 1 books while studying for 2 .I hope u have got my point .

Would it be possible to start with the same subject by Oct 1.I am trying to finish ObGyn ,I need to do eveytihng.Thisis my first reading.Could everone pl tell us what they have done & their target exam dates.We could all try to be on the same page then.

hello friends.
seems everyone here is doing the dvd's as well as the kap lnote.i'm doing the same. have finished gyne and started obs. it takes a lot of time but then i think it is good.
i think all of u r doing great being moms and everything. we should encourage each other during this lengthy and taxing time. good luck to everyone.

Hi all atlast started preparing from blueprints the only ones which i have apart from cmdt,nms and blackwell .started with cvs from cmdt i felt reading cmdt was better than reading from review bcoz the matter is given but in different ways.I dont know if correct or wrong have to see since just started .gl to all any suggestions very welcome bbg
