Hai nasrin 46 nice to know u r also preparing for usmle. I searched for books in barnes & noble they said I have to order online so searching. But at presaent I have CMDT,NMS REVIEW FOR STEP 2 ,UNDERGROUND CLINICAL VIGNETTEES .Weekend was busy with kids ,want to start studying, think the materials for step 1 I got well organised step 2 still searching. How about u? When do u plan for step 2?When did u finish step1 ?Were u in clinical field and when did u graduate? For step 1 preparation in the end I felt having a study partner would have helped me more so I decided when I prepare for the next step it would be with a friend. BEST OF LUCK bbg

Hi nasrin 46,lucky,nice to know that we have a common goal of good score. My step 1 score was 202/82 not a very high one but considering my commitments taking the kids to all activities and younger one still in preschool it was still an ok score but want to score high in step 2 .I am on the look out for books i was told blueprints are good but if I get kaplan also no problem.Aiming for step 2 in jan or feb as feel i need to have good preparation. When did u start uw?Are u finished with 1 or 2 readings? Good luck to all bbg

By the time I will apply for Residency I will be 9 yrs old graduate. All this time I was a stay at home mom. Now that I want to start preparing for steps I am really worried about my chances of finding residency with such a long gap. Is it worth giving a try or I should better start looking for another job. I have no reaserch or job expereince. I have green card.

Hi All, Can I join you guys? I'm also in the same boat.. got a kid. was stay at home mom for a year now. waiting for step 1 results. (need a lot of prayers) I'm a 1996 graduate, live in bay area, CA just starting Internal med today. Going to take the diagnostic test today. will see where I have to stress more. SMT, don't worry. lots of people have got into residency after a big gap. keep working at it. You even have a green card so will be easier for you. If you are planning for the 2007 match then you might also want to start working part time as a volunteer with a doctor at a hospital. I did that , now I will be starting a part time job form monday (along with studying). This will help you get good LORs from US docs. A big help in application, i've heard. Everybody else... Best of luck. Let's push each other do do well.
