An African-American mother brings her four-month-old baby-boy to your office for his first check up. The infant is exclusively breast fed, but gets unsweetened tea or bottled water when it is very hot. He already sleeps through the night, smiles at and follows people with his eyes. He plays with his own fingers and holds his head up when positioned on the stomach. The mother is concerned, because she has heard, that exclusively breast-fed babies are prone to develop rickets. What do you tell her? A Not to worry, because white babies are more likely to develop rickets B Not to worry, because breast milk has enough vitamin K, vitamin D and iron C To give the child 400 IU vitamin D3 per day p.o. prophylactically D Not to worry, because her child is only four months old and rickets usually manifest at eight to ten month E To take 3000 IU of vitamin D3 per day herself and increase her exposure to ultraviolet light

C To give the child 400 IU vitamin D3 per day p.o. prophylactically is the nearest answer but as far as i know vit D prophylacty has been updated recently as 200 IU per day not 400 .am i wrong :?:
