Hi! I'm a licensed physician from the Philippines. I am about to take the first two steps of MLE in the next two months, and will apply for tourist visa in November for the CS exam in December. Hopefully by the time of my interview in Nov., I will have obtained my step1 score. Can you give me some tips on how to increase my chances of getting the visa? Will a letter of support from an MD in the US help? Will invitations for interview from residency program directors help? Thank you very much. Dr. Morgagni

the actual invitations for interview are probably your best bet. You must also demonstrate that you have a job, and a bank account in your home country and are therefore unlikely to 'flee' to the US and stay illegally. Hope that helps, CGR

A letter from a US MD would rule .I dont think they look at the scores in usmle.
