A 55-year-old man presents to his doctor with the complaint of fatigue for a number of weeks. He also complains of a dragging sensation in the left upper abdomen. Physical examination establishes the following vitals: BP 135/90 mmHg, Pulse 78/min, Temp 37.2 C, Resp 18/min. The spleen is found to be extended 8 cm below the costal margin and the liver extends 2 cm below the costal margin. The following laboratory tests are performed on the blood:

WBC count: 3,000/microliter

Bone marrow: inaspirable
