I dont know drkpp.... how would you cath a pt wiht hypo/epispadiasis, and why would it be needed?

When is the best time to correct these abnormal openings of the ureter? Cicumcision is usually delayed and done at the same time as the surgical correction.

as i said merck i am not too sure of it.

as far as circumcision is concerned in this cases, its always done at the time of surgical corection because the prepusal skin is used in the process. thus it is a contraindication to actually do a circumcision in this setting..time frame again beatsme....

sorry

this is what I found

Usually, the surgical repair is done when your baby is between 6 and 12 months, when penile growth is minimal. At birth the child will not be able to undergo circumcision, as the extra foreskin may be needed for the surgical repair. The surgical repair can usually be done on an outpatient basis.

one more question? when is umbilical hernia repaired

a at birth

b at 6mth

c 1 yr

d 2yrs

e 5 yrs

and emedicine says: Currently, most physicians attempt to repair hypospadias when the child is aged 6-18 months. This has been associated with an improved emotional and psychologic result.
